Officers discovered the three wounded teens all fled to different locations after the shooting, which took place in the 1600 block of East Holt Avenue around 6:46 p.m. October 10. The teens were in the empty parking lot when a vehicle was driven up to them and the suspects open fire, according to Lt. Ryan Rodriguez of the Pomona Police Department. The male teens, who ranged in age from 14 to 16 years old, were hospitalized with injuries considered not life-threatening, Rodriguez told SGV CityWatch. The suspects fled in a light-colored four-door sedan. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor POMONA - A man Pomona detectives accuse of committing armed robbery and attempted murder was caught April 27 after evading them for months. Jordan Malik Menefee, 19, was captured by members of the Pomona Police Special Investigations Unit Monday after witnessing him leave an apartment unit in the 4100 block of West Thornton Avenue in Hemet. Menefee is accused of committing two shootings and an armed robbery in October and November of 2019, Pomona Police said. Menefee eluded law enforcement by hopping from acquaintance to acquaintance throughout SoCal until detectives got a break on his whereabouts in April, Pomona Police said.
“A search warrant was served immediately following Menefee’s arrest and a loaded firearm was located within Menefee’s vehicle,” Pomona Police said in a written statement. Menefee was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling/occupied vehicle and armed robbery. Menefee is being held in lieu of nearly $7.4 million bail at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. |
